High Adsorption Capacity Fluoride Removal Filter Media - Fluoride Removal Resin


REFsorb fluoride removal filter media (also known as REFsorb spherical fluoride adsorbent) is a high-capacity specialized material designed for advanced fluoride removal in drinking water and industrial wastewater. It rapidly and stably adsorbs and removes fluoride ions from water to extremely low levels, ensuring effluent meets drinking water standards.


Material and Appearance

Hydroxyapatite-based (Ca₅(PO₄)₃(OH), etc.), white spherical particles, particle size 0.5-1.5 mm, bulk density 1.0-1.2 g/ml, insoluble in water.


Adsorption Capacity

Actual engineering operation typically stabilizes above 5-7.5 g-F⁻/kg (≈ 6 g/kg), reducing effluent fluoride ions to <1 ppm.


Operation

• pH: 5-9 (Optimal adsorption pH for REFsorb fluoride removal media: 6-6.5)

• Temperature: 5-40 ℃

• Empty Bed Contact Time: 5-10 min

• Filtration Rate: 3-10 m/h (or 5-15 BV/h)


Regeneration Method

Regeneration is achieved by reverse slow washing and soaking with 4-5% NaOH solution for 2 hours, with a recovery rate >98%. Regeneration cycle is 3-12 days (depending on influent fluoride concentration).
